How Shall They Hear?

The gospel is “the power of God unto salvation” so it’s imperative that we share this message of good news with as many as possible.  Romans 10:12-17, in a series of rhetorical questions, sets forth what is necessary for a person to be saved, i.e., the how of salvation.  This message is central in understanding the mission of Community of Joy. Needed: People on a Mission

Jesus came to this world on a mission – to usher in the Kingdom of God.  The harvest is plentiful but the workers are comparatively few.  He’s looking for people to join Him in fulfilling His mission – ordinary, but dedicated people, who share His heart of compassion for the world.  This includes us. Prayer and Mission

Mary Magdalene in PrayerA crucial part of the CoJ vision is to be a congregation that is “world impacting.” The gospel message of forgiveness and freedom through faith in Jesus Christ is life changing good news and definitely worth sharing, beginning in our own back yard and extending to the far corners of the world. That means we’ve got work to do – a mission to accomplish. Why then are we talking about prayer? Talking to God seems so passive.
